Future of the Inside UNR

With the recent updates we received last night, I see the site being capable of a lot of growth. I'm planning to meet with the digital initiatives person in the UNR communications department. I want to talk to her about using the sites Events page as a replacement or supplement to ASUN and UNR homepage events. Because of the ability to export events into someone's personal computer as well as get RSVP information, there's a higher potential for attendance and finding out what kind of events peop… Continue

How-to tie a single-Windsor knot and wear a suit correctly

I hate the way people tie their ties so I made a how-to guide. Just happens to be in The Nevada Sagebrush. Here's the rest of the guide to the suit wearing too. Please be sure to NEVER button the bottom button, just for me, okay? Click the photo for a PDF.… Continue

Why news blogs don't get interaction - DUH!

In response to this "Study shows that newspaper blogs need to step up interaction with audience" It doesn't help when the blogs aren't attached to something people can find, such as the RSJ Web site. Blogging by nature is severely fragmented and people find them often by sheer luck or through intensive searches on Technorati. The problem with political blogs is that they are matter of fac… Continue

Ther contradictory personality of religion

In my political science class my teacher accidentally brought up an interesting point. He was talking about, and this is something I've always said, how many religious followers believe their religion is absolutely right. And this makes sense since it's a personal belief but what he said he disliked is that most of these followers are so appalled at the fact you don't agree with their belief they spend most of their energy trying to convince you're wrong and their right. They're incapable of eve… Continue

Hey thanks for the response at all. I'm not trying to talk down or anything. I'm always looking to play an active part in things like this. It's just more often than not they don't seem to work. But I'll be proud was one of the first 50 members once we hit 500 =P

Personally I think Facebook is quite awesome. I could do without the applications though there are some diamonds in the rough. I just like how content driven it used to be. Everyone had the same page. Now it's all about how many people you can invite to such and such which is just annoying. Also, the basic features of facebook actually work. If I want to find a friend by typing in their name, low and behold it actually comes up, unlike myspace which is just a maze.

Anywhom, thanks for the response at all. Best of luck with the paper.
